Old Buildings, New Lives: Govanhill Baths

Govanhill Baths in Glasgow provided swimming pools, public baths and a steam laundry in a deprived part of the city for almost 100 years. But the much-love community facility closed in 2001. Local group the Govanhill Baths Community Trust (GBCT) wants to refurbish the Baths as a wellbeing centre for the community. GBCT has appointed The Prince’s Regeneration Trust (PRT) as project manager to oversee the work at the site. In this film by Junction15 Productions, Andrew Johnson, chair of GBCT explains why the regeneration of the site is so important to the local community.
