Rothesay Pavilion, Isle of Bute
Rothesay Pavilion is one of the best examples of a Modern Movement Building in the country. Its development holds significant regeneration potential for a community in need of projects that will bolster the local economy.
This Grade A listed Modern Movement Building sits at the heart of this once flourishing seaside town. It was a key tourist destination for Glaswegians. However, as with many similar towns, the visitor numbers dropped sharply causing economic problems for the area.
The site was a point of pride for the community and its dereliction negatively impacts on the town's sense of pride and place. We are supporting the local authority to find viable new uses that will retain the historic fabric of this unique building while providing the community with a new space that will benefit residents.
We have produced Options Appraisals, supported the development of a full business case and working to secure capital funding.
Rothesay is a town in need of successful and relevant regeneration projects to improve job opportunities and promote community cohesion. The Pavilion stands at the centre of the town and its sustainable development will boost developer confidence and act as a catalyst for similar projects
