Heritage Dragons: Heritage-Regeneration Projects Pitch to 'Dragon' Panel to Win Pro Bono Support!
We are hugely excited to be involved in an event on Wednesday - Heritage Dragons! It is in Central London and involves selected heritage-led regeneration projects competing to secure over 400 hours of free professional advice in front of a very scary board of ‘dragons’!
It will be similar to the real Drgaon’s Den which is back on our TVs right now – but instead of cash, these projects are fighting over hours of invaluable pro bono support.
All the projects have real potential to boost their local economies, bring communities together and we look forward to hearing more about each of them on the day.The ‘Heritage Dragons’ comprise of the following petrifying panel......
- Clive Dutton OBE, the Executive Director for Regeneration at Newham Council responsible for delivering the London 2012 Olympic legacy in the borough
- Leading architect and Bristol Mayoral candidate George Ferguson
- Ian Marcus, Managing Director of leading private investment firm, Evans Property Group and our brilliant Chairman.
Before the groups are put in front on the panel, they will be joined on the day by a number of leading experts from a variety of professional backgrounds including finance, legal, architecture, community engagement and funding who will provide groups with expert knowledge on creating sustainable business models and guidance on how to secure private investment. This will help prepare the groups to put together pro-bono winning worthy pitches for the 'Dragons' in the afternoon!
In true Dragon style - there will be some healthy grilling and tricky questions no doubt, and at the end of the day - over 400 hours of tailored pro bono support will distributed amongst the projects.
Heritage Dragons has been organised by the Heritage Investment Working Group (HIWG) - a cross-sector collaboration of leading heritage-regeneration agencies and national organisations representing commercial and social enterprise. The Group includes the Heritage Lottery Fund, English Heritage, the Architectural Heritage Fund, British Property Federation, Locality, Heritage Alliance, Historic Houses Association and us!
We have come together to form a coalition of shared ideas and resources to push and persuade investors and communities that working together makes heritage-led regeneration viable, sustainable and of benefit to all.
We are really looking forward to this event. We will follow up with lots of info on all the projects that are taking part in the next couple of days so watch out for more news!
