The Minister for Tourism and Heritage, John Penrose MP, paid a special visit to Middleport Pottery.
He was on a tour to promote Staffordshire enterprise and tourism. The Minister was shown round the site by Project Director, Fred Taggart and Chairman, Ian Marcus. The Minister greatly enjoyed seeing the 19th century machinery, learning about the traditional craftsmanship and marvelled at the beautiful Burleigh in the shop. He was delighted to be given one of Middleport's charming cow creamers.
Chief Executive Ros Kerslake said:
We are delighted the Minister visited Middleport Pottery. We are excited and proud to be embarking on this ambitious regeneration project and are pleased the Minister has taken the time to learn about our plans and what it will mean for the local area.
