The Prince's Regeneration Trust (PRT) is campaigning for people to vote for Middleport Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent as it competes for Europe’s most prestigious heritage prize that is decided by popular choice.
The home of world-renowned Burleigh pottery is a contender for the Europa Nostra Public Choice Award. Supporters have until Sunday to cast their vote.
Last month, the Pottery received a 2015 European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage/ Europa Nostra Award, which are given to schemes that make outstanding achievements in conservation, research, service to heritage and education and training.
Of the 28 winning entries, the project that gets the most popular votes will receive the much-coveted Public Choice Award.
PRT, which owns the Pottery, is trying to drum up support for the project in the Public Choice Award, encouraging supporters to vote at: http://vote.europanostra.org/
- The deadline for voting is Sunday 31st May 2015.
- You must vote for three projects in total, which must all be from different countries (so you cannot vote for another UK project as well as Middleport Pottery)
- Once you have made your choice you will receive an email asking you to confirm your vote. Please ensure that you check your spam filter as unconfirmed votes will not count.
Ros Kerslake, Chief Executive of The Prince’s Regeneration Trust, said: "We would be extremely appreciative if any supporters of Middleport Pottery could spare a minute or two to vote for us in the Public Choice Award. Thank you for all your help."
The winner will be announced at the European Heritage Awards Ceremony on Thursday 11 June in Oslo, Norway.
