A colloquium and viewing of Montagu Monuments and the conservation project
Friday 11 April 2014, 10.30am to 4pm
The morning session, which will be held within Boughton House, will be an introduction to the project with three presentations on the Monuments as sculpture, their history and the individuals remembered.
After lunch, the team from the conservators, Skillingtons, will give unique access to the Monuments and will explain the issues and the work being undertaken.
Places are limited and are issued on a first-come first-served basis. They must be booked by email to firstname.lastname@example.org Please apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
The ticket price is £30, and this includes coffee on arrival, lunch and transport between Boughton and Warkton, and a shuttle to and from Kettering Station. A limited number of places are being offered to students in full-time education, at a concessionary rate of £20 per person.
The colloquium is being organised in association with the University of Leicester and the Montagu Monument conservation project is being supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
